Manhunt for suspect linked to eShowe family massacre

Police in KwaZulu-Natal say a manhunt's underway for a suspect linked to the murder of a family in eShowe, in northern KZN.
His accomplice was sentenced to four terms of life imprisonment in the Mthunzini High Court on Wednesday.
Ntuthuko Mthethwa was found guilty of killing three members of the Mkhize family at their home in the area last year.
KZN police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda says Mthethwa and another suspect who is known to the police opened fire on six members of the family.

"Shrewd investigation led the police to Mthethwa who was arrested the following day. The Investigating Officer successfully opposed the accused’s several bids for bail and was kept behind bars until his sentencing on Wednesday, 27 March 2024.
"Mthethwa was sentenced to a life term imprisonment for each murder and another life term behind bars for attempted murder, as well as additional 22 years in jail.
"The Provincial Commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has applauded the investigating team for working around the clock to arrest the suspect as well as presenting a strong case in court, which led to the attainment of a maximum sentence."
