Manhunt for motorist in alleged Comrades hit-and-run incident

Police are working to track down a motorist who ploughed into four Comrades Marathon supporters in the early hours of yesterday morning - before speeding off.
It is understood the alleged hit-and-run at the bottom of Polly Shortts left at least one person in intensive care.
Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says the group of people had been setting up their support station when the bakkie veered off the road.
"We can confirm that Alexandra Road SAPS has opened a case of reckless and negligent driving after a vehicle hit four people next to the road in the Ashburton area," he said.

He says police are appealing for information.
"The vehicle did not stop after the incident. Up until now, the driver is still at large. We are appealing to anyone who might have information about his whereabouts to pelase come forward so that he will be taken in and questioned as to what really happened," Zwane said.
