Manhunt after man escapes from KZN court
A police manhunt is underway for a man who escaped from a court in Scottburgh this week, after pretending to be another suspect who'd been let off with a fine.
27-year-old Mduduzi Zama had been arrested last weekend in connection with a string of burglaries after a number of businesses were hit in central Scottburgh.
Police say during a scheduled court appearance on Tuesday, Zama allegedly falsely misrepresented himself as another accused who had been convicted on a drug related charge and released.
Police are appealing to the public for any information of his whereabouts - they are advised not to approach the suspect but to contact police.
Authorities have opened a case case of escaping from lawful custody.
