Manhunt for 5 Pinetown suspects
Police are searching for five alleged robbers following a shooting incident in Pinetown yesterday.
A group of six men carrying knives allegedly approached a driving instructor and a learner driver in Old Main Road and demanded valuables from them. Police say the instructor allegedly produced a firearm and shot at the suspects.
One of the suspects sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. SAPS spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele, says the remaining five are still on the run.
"They robbed both of them of their belongings, including cell phones", she said.
"A case of robbery and inquest has been opened at Pinetown police station", Mbhele said
