2 killed in N3 multi-vehicle crash

The couple had been riding a motorbike, which collided with a truck and a bakkie yesterday afternoon.

EMRS's Rob Mckenzie says they responded immediately after the incident.

"Two people survived the crash and were treated by paramedics from Emergency Medical Rescue Services before being transported to hospital", he said.

In another separate incident three people were seriously hurt during a collision involving two vehicles on the N2 in the vicinity of the old air port early this morning.

In the initial accident a man lost control at the wheel and crashed his car into the concrete barriers and was ejected.

While Netcare 911 paramedics were attending to the injured man a second vehicle crashed into the accident scene, scraping an ambulance and police car.

This resulted in the man and the woman in the second car also being seriously hurt.

It is believed the man had been rushing his wife to hospital.
