Man stabbed to death at Cowey Road supermarket

The manager of a Durban fresh produce store has been stabbed to death, allegedly by an employee.
Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala, says the 30-year-old man - whose name is known to Newswatch - was stabbed multiple times inside the store on Cowey Road, last night.
"He sustained multiple stab wounds to his body and died at the scene. A case of business robbery and murder have been opened by Berea SAPS," she said.
Gwala says the suspect fled the scene - after taking the victim's wallet, cellphone and some money from the store.
Newswatch visited the scene - the Morningside Food Lover's Market - earlier this afternoon, and found a sign at the entrance of the store, notifying customers that it was closed until Monday.
Inside, crime scene detectives were busy collecting evidence.
An employee of another shop in the small shopping complex has told Newswatch about how he realised something was amiss.
He says he noticed that the store's doors were still open and the lights still on at 10pm, which he found unusual - as the store closes at 7pm.
The man says after walking into the shop, he came across a lot of blood on the floor - adding that it was clear that something had been dragged across it to the office.
He says he ran out to get the security guards, before alerting the police.
Another employee of the Food Lover's Market says the victim had been working there for six months.
He says the father-of-two small children is being laid to rest today - in accordance with Islamic funeral rites.
Meanwhile, police are still searching for the suspect, as investigations continue.
