Man shot, killed in Prospecton armed robbery
A man believed to be in his 40s has been shot dead outside a bank in Prospecton, south of Durban.
It's understood he was shot as he walked out of the bank on Prospecton Road.
Netcare911's Chris Botha says the man, believed to be in his forties, was declared dead at the scene.
"When we arrived we found the man lying on the ground with very critical wounds. Paramedics from Netcare and other services, despite all efforts, he was declared dead on scene," he said.
Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says the suspects managed to flee the scene in a getaway vehicle.
"Police have opened a case of murder as well as armed robbery after a man was shot and killed in the Prospecton area. No arrests have been made at this stage, and suspects are still at large," he said.
