Man shot dead at Cornubia housing complex

Cornubia residents made a grisly discovery at the weekend,
when they came upon a murder victim lying in an open field at the housing
complex, north of Durban.
Reaction Unit South Africa's Prem Balram says the man was found on Saturday.
He had been shot twice in his chest and twice in his right arm.
“Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the Cornubia housing complex. Upon arrival, paramedics certified the man deceased at the scene. No identification was found,” he said.

Balram says the scene was cordoned off and handed over to the police.
A case of murder has been opened at Verulam SAPS.
Officers say a homemade firearm was found near the body.

The victim is still to be identified and the motive for his killing is unknown. No arrests have been made.
