Man sentenced for murder at Inanda home

A 23-year-old man has begun serving his life sentence after being found guilty of murder and robbery.

Lethukuthula Ngwenya was sentenced by the Ntuzuma Regional Court recently.
Ngwenya was found guilty of gunning down Bongumusa Mavuso during a robbery at one of his friend's residences in Inanda two years ago.

"At gunpoint, he robbed Mavuso of his vehicle before shooting him,” says spokesperson for KZN police Robert Netshiunda.
"Bongumusa was rushed to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Cases of murder and robbery were duly opened, and investigations led to the arrest of Ngwenya.
"The investigating officer fully opposed bail, and Ngwenya remained in custody until the day of his sentencing. The court ruled for his case to run concurrently."
