Man sentenced for cable copper theft in KZN

A 33-year-old man has begun serving an 18-month prison sentence for copper cable theft.

Mzameleni Mngomezulu was found in possession of around 14kgs of cables in Newcastle.
He was arrested by the Hawks in February.

Half of his sentence has been suspended for a period of three years on condition that he is not accused of the same charge during the period of suspension.
He was also further declared unfit to possess a firearm.
