Man nabbed with drugs worth R20m

The Hawks say Mandrax tablets and powder with an estimated street value of at least R20-million was discovered at a house in Sandhurst, an upmarket suburb north of Johannesburg.
Spokesperson Lieutenant Robert Netshiunda says police were acting on a tip-off.
"The house and cottage [on the property] were used as drug labs. We found thousands of Mandrax tablets and ready-made powder left to dry to be made into more tablets," he said.
A South African man, 28, was arrested at the house last night around 10pm. Another man who was also at the house managed to flee.
"It was a tip-off which we were investigating for quite some time. We believe the people have been operating here for quite some time," he said.
Netshiunda says the upmarket home is not furnished, and is in a very secure neighbourhood with high walls and electric fences.
He is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court on Monday, facing charges of dealing in drugs.
