Man linked to torching of Brookside Mall denied bail

A 35-year-old man, allegedly connected to the torching of Brookside Mall in Pietermaritzburg during the unrest, has been denied bail.
A 35-year-old man, allegedly connected to the torching of Brookside Mall in Pietermaritzburg during the unrest, has been denied bail.
Ndumiseni Zuma is scheduled to return to the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court on 25 November.
KwaZulu-Natal National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Natasha Kara said: "He appeared on charges relating to the incidences of looting and public violence that occurred in KwaZulu-Natal in mid-July, in particular, the burning of the Brookside Mall.
"The matter was remanded to 25 November 2021 for further investigations."
