Man killed, two injured in Mariannhill drive-by shooting
A man has been shot dead and two others wounded after occupants of a car opened fire on three minibus taxis in Mariannhill today.
The taxis had been travelling on the Old Richmond Road with passengers at the time of the shooting.
"Unknown suspects opened fire towards the three taxis and passengers. One taxi capsized. A 32-year-old suspect sustained gunshot wounds to the head and back. He died at the scene. A further two passengers sustained injuries and were taken to hospital," police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele said.

Mbhele could not confirm whether or not the incident could be taxi-related in the area.
She says Mariannhill police detectives are investigating the motive.
