Man killed in hail of bullets in Durban

A man has been killed in what appears to have been a drive-by shooting near Bhamshela, north of Durban.
Reports from the scene are that two people were in a vehicle and travelling on the R614, on Wednesday night.
Gunshots were fired in their direction, when another vehicle overtook them.
IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst says the driver – who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds - was declared dead on the scene,
"The vehicle left the roadway and struck the tree. The passenger of the crashed vehicle managed to escape unharmed.
"The suspects fled their vehicle and are being sought by police. The motive of the killing is unknown at this stage. All necessary services were in attendance and will be investigating."
