Man killed in Durban CBD train accident

A man who had made his way onto the train tracks in the vicinity of the Durban CBD, has been killed after he was hit by a train this morning.
Reports from the scene are that the man, believed to been in his 30s, had walked onto the tracks below the corners of Johannes Nkosi and Joe Slovo Streets when the train slammed into him.

Rescue Care's Garith Jamieson says police, paramedics and search and rescue officials are on scene.
"There's a lot of traffic and people are trying to see over the wall. We advise motorists to avoid the area at all costs to prevent congestion on the roads," he said.
