Man in court for stabbing elderly mom, daughter to death in PMB

A 38-year-old man will appear in court on Monday in connection with a double murder in Pietermaritzburg.
The suspect was arrested in the Bluff area after two police offices noticed a suspicious-looking man entering one of the local shops.
One of the officers followed the suspect inside the shop where he recognised him as someone wanted for a double murder.
KZN police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says the suspect faces two counts of murder, as well as robbery and theft.

"It is alleged that on 26 May 2022 at 19:45, the bodies of a 75-year-old woman and her 58-year-old daughter were found at their house at Oribi Village in Pietermaritzburg.
"They were allegedly stabbed with a sharp instrument at the back of their heads. Nothing was taken inside the house except the vehicle that was stolen. The vehicle was recovered in Amanzimtoti the following day."
He will appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court.
