Man gets life for raping daughter
A 54-year-old man has begun serving a life sentence for rape.
The Madadeni Regional Court, east of Newcastle found the man guilty of raping his nine-year-old daughter.
Police have welcomed the sentence, saying it will serve as a strong message to the community.
The victim's mother realised the girl had been abused by the man when she was seven-years-old.
