Man entrapped in vehicle submerged in water saved by good Samaritans
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
Paramedics say a man, whose car plunged into a river in Bergville, survived the early morning crash thanks to group of good Samaritans.

The group stepped out of their own vehicle to hold the man's head above the water.
While details surrounding the smash aren't clear, it appears the driver may have lost control of his car on the R600 at around 1am this morning.
His vehicle was submerged and he became entrapped in neck-deep water.
Emergency services were on the way. But KwaZulu Private Ambulance's Craig Botha says in the meantime, the man received lifesaving assistance from a group of motorists who saw what happened.
"A group of bystanders who were driving pass saw the accident, and stopped to assist the driver that was in the car by holding his upper body and head out the water until emergency services arrived."
"When emergency services arrived, together with the Bergville fire protection services, they extricated the patient and stabilised the patient on scene, afterwards the patient was then flown to a facility for treatment," he said.
