Man critically injured after crane collapses in Umdloti
Updated | By Shaun Ryan. Lethiwe Mdluli
A man is fighting for his life after a high rise crane collapsed and fell onto another crane at a construction site near Sibaya Drive and the M4, north of Durban.

The crane operator then fell from the cabin.
IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst says on arrival, paramedics found the man critically injured. He required advanced life support, Herbst says.
Meanwhile, a Durban motorist has described the mayhem after the crane collapsed.
Craig Everett says dozens of people ran in all directions to get away from the structure.
Some people ran across the freeway to get to the traffic circle at the M4.
Everitt says the crane appears to have fallen onto the main building.
"There was one big yellow crane - one of the main upright cranes - that had fallen. It bent and buckled - it crossed the different levels of the construction site. Some concrete bollards had bent and twisted all around the site," he says.
