Man critical after N2 stabbing incident
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed multiple times while stranded on the side of the N2 freeway this morning.
The motorist, believed to be in his 30s, had apparently experienced car trouble when he pulled over on the northbound carriageway just after the M7 interchange, south of Durban.
He was then attacked by two men.

Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says he sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
"Advanced life support paramedics worked to stabilise the man on scene before rushing him through to hospital for the life saving treatment that he required. It is alleged that he broke down on the side of the freeway. Whilst waiting for assistance, two men exited from the bush and robbed him of his valuables," he said.
Police confirmed the incident, saying community members helped apprehend one of the suspects. Officers are waiting for a case to be opened.
