Man arrested for shooting alleged robber
Gauteng police say a man has been arrested for murder after shooting dead one of three men who allegedly tried to rob him in Johannesburg.
Warrant Office Xoli Mbele says the 40-year-old cleaner was allegedly robbed by the three men at knife point yesterday evening and they took his wallet.
"The cleaner then drew his licensed firearm and fired several shots [at] the suspects.
"One of the robbers, 29-years of age, was certified dead on the scene by the paramedics while his two accomplices fled the scene," said Mbele.
The cleaner was arrested and taken to the Johannesburg Central police station.
He is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
