Police have arrested a man in connection with the deadly Marshalltown fire in central Johannesburg last year.
More than 70 people lost their lives and some 60 others were injured when the blaze ripped through a multi-storey hijacked building in August.
A spokesperson for Gauteng police, Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, says the suspect was taken into custody on Tuesday after he made a shock confession before the commission investigating the cause of the Usindiso fire.
"The 29-year-old man was arrested after he confessed at the commission of inquiry for being involved in starting the tragic fire.
