Man arrested following murder of ANCYL member

Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a senior ANC Youth League member.
Sindisiwe Ndlovu was shot and killed in the early hours of this morning in Cramond in the KZN Midlands.
The 34-year-old Ndlovu had been serving on the youth league's Provincial Executive Committee.
The suspect was known to her.
KZN police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says the 31-year-old man was arrested hours after the incident.

"A case of murder is being investigated by Cramond police. It is alleged that in the early hours of Tuesday morning, a 34-year-old woman was shot by a known suspect after an argument," says Mbele.
" The 31-year-old man was arrested for murder. The motive for the killing is unknown and is under investigation," adds Mbele.

In a statement, the ANC Youth League in KZN says it's shocked by the murder.
It's described Ndlovu as an activist who dedicated her life to the service of young people in the country.
The league says her killer must face the full might of the law and has called on the government to intensify the fight against gender-based violence.
