A man accused of posting pictures of a woman on a sex website without her knowledge has been granted bail of R5 000.

Mohamed Fories Hoosen has appeared in the Durban Magistrate's Court on charges of criminal defamation, intimidation and extortion.
According to police, it was brought to the woman's attention in August last year that photos of her were on the site.
She also discovered she was receiving emails and messages on social media from men responding to the uploaded photos.
The woman says she was also inundated with unsolicited phone calls.

It's understood pictures of some of her relatives and others close to her were also put up on the website.
After a lengthy investigation, the Provincial Organised Crime Unit linked 38-year-old Hoosen to the crime and arrested him in Chatsworth.
He appeared in court on Thursday and is expected back in the dock in July.
