A Durban man accused of stabbing his grandfather to death and injuring his father will undergo a mental assessment.
He made his first appearance in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
It's understood that the 20-year-old, his mother, and his father were working on getting flood waters out of their Louisville home during the heavy rains on Saturday night.
Police say it’s alleged he then attacked his family.
