Man accused of killing DUT student in court today

A man suspected of the murder of a DUT student, Thabiso Sifundo Mhlongo will appear in court today.

Police say the 21-year-old suspect was arrested at his hideout in Isipingo on Wednesday.
KZN police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says he is accused of stabbing 19-year-old Mhlongo at a university residence in the Durban CBD.

"It is alleged on the 7th January, in the afternoon, Mhlongo sustained a stab wound on the neck and was declared deceased by paramedics."
His assailant fled the scene after the incident and was on the run since then. A case of murder was opened at Durban Central Police Station for investigation," says Gwala.
