Malusi Gigaba hits back at state capture allegations
Former Minister, Malusi Gigaba has vehemently denied allegations of state capture while he was part of the Cabinet.
Gigaba released a statement on Friday, following this week’s explosive evidence before the State Capture Commission.
A secret witness told the witness how Gigaba allegedly made various trips to the then luxurious compound of the Gupta brothers in Saxonworld.
According to the witness, the Minister would leave with a bag containing cash and be driven to the nearby Sandton City, where he would splash out on tailor-made suits and in restaurants.

The witness, whose identity is not known, said he first was a driver for Gigaba before also becoming part of the Minister’s security personnel.
However, in his reaction, Gigaba calls the allegations “spurious”.
“I strongly deny any suggestion or insinuation that there is anything unlawful that I did,” reads the statement.
Gigaba continues to say he is busy preparing an affidavit in response to the allegations and wants his legal team to cross-examine Witness 3.
