Updated | By Algoa FM
EFF leader Julius Malema is expected to face cross-examination on Thursday from the State in his firearms trial, underway in the East London Magistrate's Court.
Malema and his co-accused, Adriaan Snyman, face six charges related to the alleged contravention of the act.
He is alleged to have fired an automatic weapon into the air at a stadium during the party's fifth anniversary celebrations.

The EFF leader told the magistrate on Wednesday that the gun shown in a video taken at the event was a 'toy'.
"If you look at us in all the songs we make gestures of a firearm when we sing songs. On that day we said as part of the act we need to bring a cinema toy to demonstrate the shooting as part of the celebration.”
