Malema inciting criminal behaviour with land grab calls: Afriforum
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Civil rights organisation, Afriforum, says it’s important for political leaders to understand that no one is above the law.
Deputy CEO Ernst Roets was speaking ahead of Economic Freedom Fighters president Julius Malema's appearance in the Newcastle Magistrate's Court, tomorrow.
Malema has been charged under the apartheid-era Riotous Assemblies Act for two incidents in Bloemfontein in 2014 and Newcastle this year.

Roets says they laid charges against Malema because he openly encouraged citizens to commit a crime, by grabbing land.
"We need to protect the rule of law in South Africa. And what we have found is politicians - especially from within the ruling party and within the EFF - who seem to think they are above the law, who seem to have no regard for the rule of law and order in SA. In this case we have Julius Malema, who is a very influential politician, who obviously has a very large following - openly convincing people to commit crime," he said.
