Maimane questions Ramaphosa about "war" between Presidency and Treasury

He made the comments during a question to Ramaphosa in the National Assembly this afternoon.

Maimane says the war between the Presidency and Treasury is negatively impacting the the economy.

"The war between the Presidency and Treasury can't carry on. What deliberate steps are you going to take to ensure that we stabilize our economy?" he asked.

In his reply, Ramaphosa says the events of the past few weeks have been a concern.

He's called on those involved to be careful not to destabilise the country already fragile economy.

"We like to believe that the processes that are now underway to deal with this matter, will put this matter to bed, and we will be able to proceed forward in a way where there is decorum," he said.  

This is the first time that Ramaphosa is facing questions in his capacity as deputy president, since the August 3rd local government elections.
