Maimane issues a stern warning to NPA

DA leader, Mmusi Maimane's reiterated that they'll use the justice system to compel the National Prosecuting Authority to charge President Jacob Zuma.
Maimane made the comment during a walkabout to assess services in areas south of Durban yesterday.
A high court judge last week ruled that the 2009 decision by acting NPA boss Mokotedi Mpshe to drop 783 corruption charges against Zuma was irrational.
"All of us as South Africans need an NPA that will prosecute without favour or prejudice. That is the oath of office that the national director of the public prosecutions [has taken]. So you can't be influenced politically. We still hold that those 783 charges must stand against President Jacob Zuma," he said.

Maimane's urged National Director of Public Prosecutions Shaun Abrahams to prove that he's there to serve the people.
"Shaun Abrahams must realise that he must operate within the confines of the law. He's not the law unto himself, that's why he must understand that we have shown that we can take on the president.
"We will equally make sure that he is held accountable to the standard to make sure that he actually continues with this prosecution against Jacob Zuma," he said.
