Maimane criticises ANC's strategy 'to gain votes'
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane has criticised what he says is a strategy by the ANC to sway voters with T-shirts and food parcels, saying it does not change their poor living conditions.
Maimane is today visiting residents of The Ark which is a housing project in Wentworth, south of Durban.
Residents of the Ark, which houses 18 families say they've been waiting for better housing conditions for years, showing Maimane the state of the units.

It's believed that yesterday, Human Settlements MEC Ravi Pillay visited the area ahead of the DA's visit today, promising urgent action.
"South Africans are living with rats and are living in places that are not fit for human beings. Why is that? Whilst in fact the ANC here has forgotten about the people and when they hear that the DA is coming, suddenly they want to come and organise the people to give them T-shirts," he said.
