We knew about Vuwani: Mahlobo
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
State Security Minister David Mahlobo says State Security knew a year ago that the Vuwani protests would happen.
Mahlobo was briefing the media about the peace & stability commissions at the ANC policy Conference.
Mahlobo couldn't complete his sentence when he told the media at the ANC's National Policy Conference that government knew way in advance that the Vuwani protests will happen.
"We knew a year ago that [protests] would happen in Vuwani and Malamulele," Mahlobo said before journalists starting laughing and voiced their disbelief.
He recovered to tell the media: "Probably one day, working with our communications team, we must be able to find time so that you familiarise yourself about certain subjects."
People were quick to react on social media.
So Mahlobo & his team would have saved schools, life's and stopped criminal acts in vuwani from happening, but chose not too. 🙈 Why?

David Mahlobo must have been high on "rhino-horn" when he lied to the journos about #Vuwani, I'm glad they responded with laughter.

Mahlobo must be held personally liable for some of the damage in Vuwani. 23 school burnt down. No furniture, library, textbooks, everything

Check his reaction when he realises his blunder. pic.twitter.com/FuLMTDVR7y
Did Mahlobo really say he knew about Vuwani about a year before? And he doesn't see any thing wrong there. Incompetency to the core.
