Mahatma Gandhi hospital workers demand more pay
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
Workers at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Phoenix have downed tools over pay.

Cleaning staff, security guards and kitchen staff say millions are being paid to contractors while they receive a ridiculous amount of money monthly.
These workers want government to employ them, saying some of their colleagues earn up to R9000.
They say some of them have received suspension letters while others have even been fired because they attended a meeting and joined a union to fight outsourcing.
Earlier today, the workers were met with the South African Public Services Union.
The union's Joe Sibiya says the money these worker are being paid is nearly not enough..
"They have to travel with that money, feed their families, fulfil their household needs. When we check we find that the hospitals are paying these contractors something like R8000 to R9000 per worker," he said.
There have also been protests at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial, King Edward, King George and Wentworth hospitals.
