Lundi Tyamara described as a national treasure at memorial service
Gospel star, Lundi Tyamara has been described as a national treasure - not only to his fans - but to the whole country.
The late star's memorial service was held at Grace Bible Church in Soweto yesterday.
The gospel artist died after a long struggle with TB and liver complications.
Dubbed the prince of gospel music, the gospel fraternity, family, friends and fans all gathered in Soweto to celebrate his life.
Tyamara's friend Bongani Madumane accused the media of killing Tyamara's spirit.

"South Africa is mourning a stranger. They never knew Lundi. They knew Lundi that was sold to them. The lie that was sold to them for 20 years because the media killed this boy - spiritually," he said.
He added that no one is perfect but that the media chose to show a side of Lundi Tyamara that sold newspapers.
Deputy arts and culture minister Joyce Mabudafhasi said his iconic voice will never be forgotten.
"The arival of Lundi marked a shift in the gospel music industry," she said.
