A memorial service for Ayanda Mtshali, Luyanda Ngubane and Tina Ngibagiba was held at their school - Newlands East Secondary School today.

Tina was raised by her aunt, Nokuthula Ngibagiba because her mother is infirm.

She says she took her niece to see her mother in hospital - just two days before she died in the crash.

"As soon as we entered the hospital doors, she jumped and sat next to her mother and took the phone. She then said - let me take a photo with you and I, and my sisters. She says - let's take another one. Then she said - mom, this one is nice."

Tina was a month shy of her thirteenth birthday when she died.

Ngibagiba says she'll remember her as a bubbly child with a passion for hair and a bright future ahead of her.

"She is a Christian. She likes to go to church every Sunday. She has a lot of friends, and [gets along] with neighbours. She enjoys going to school and she is very bright. Maybe she will be a mayor, a councillor or lawyer," she said.

A fourth girl was injured and is recovering. The driver of the minibus taxi was today granted bail.
