Mohamed Ebrahim was on Wednesday sentencedto 25 years in prison by the Durban High Court.

Miguel was found murdered in 2018. The boy's father died of a heart attack several month later

Members of the Louw family, began sobbing and hugging each other as Judge Jacqueline Hendriques handed down her sentence in court A this morning.

Ebrahim was then heard asking Advocate Jay Naidoo how the court could do this to him when, in his opinion, they had no evidence against him.

Miguel's mother, Raylene Louw, was conspicuous in her absence today.

Outside court, the child's aunt Tasneem dos Santos said Miguel's death had taken such a toll on Louw that she moved cities.

"She is not well, that's the reason why she moved it was basically just better for her - change of scenery - there's too much memories of Miguel here and she couldn't move on and progress.

"She was still ironing uniforms and making lunch and acting like he is still around and he is not. So her moving I think it's better. She is getting counselling."

Ebrahim was also handed eight years for kidnapping and 18 months for theft.
