LOOK: KwaNongoma mayor defends 4mil 'bridge'
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
The mayor of KwaNongoma has defended the construction of a bridge and a roadway that cost 4 million-rand.

Photos of the bridge did the rounds on social media after it was unveiled earlier this week.
Some people criticised the structure saying it couldn't have cost that much.
Mayor Albert Mncwango says the bridge was built to connect the rural areas of Nzondwane and Ndongane so that school children and other locals could cross the river safely.

"I am very disappointed that there should be such a big noise, there is unfortunate misinformation in social media cause this bridge actually does not come in isolation.
There is a road, we had to build an 8km road. The construction and also the procurement and budgeting processes were above board. We had budgeted R4million for the road and the bridge and those things were delivered."
