The ANC's Parliamentary spokesperson Moloto Mothapo says he has handed in his resignation.

Having joined the ANC Parliamentary Caucus in 2005, Mothapo will leave in two weeks' time.
Mothapo says he learnt a lot during his time in office, and leaves the position in good hands.
"I can indeed confirm that I have tendered my resignation to the Office of The Chief Whip last week. It has been 12 long years and I believe I have contributions to make elsewhere.

"I have worked at the ANC Parliamentary Caucus under seven different Chief Whips for the past 12 twelve years during which time there's been a lot of political turnings that have created history. One feels so privileged," he said.
The office of the ANC chief whip in Parliament has confirmed this stating Mothapo's resignation is effective from February 14.
