Loeries Creative Week kicks off in Durban
Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
The Loeries Creative Week is underway in Durban. The event kicked off at the Durban ICC today.
It is considered one of the biggest events that unites creative's from Across Africa and the Middle East.
The Loeries is a non-profit organisation that aims to add more recognition and contribute to the brand communication industry, by helping marketers, agencies and consumers appreciate and gather more information about the value of ideas and fresh thinking.
Chief Convention Bureau Officer James Seymour, who was involved in the bidding process in securing the Loeries for the last three years for KwaZulu-Natal, says one of the main reasons why they wanted the Loeries in Durban is because the provincial government wants to develop the film and adverting industry in the province.
He says the festival will boost tourism in Durban and also help students who want to study towards advertising and make an informed decision.
The Loeries Creative Week kicks off today and ends on the 21st of August. To see the full programme of all the events planned, you can visit their website here.
If you want to attend, you can buy the festival tickets here.
