Loadshedding could have been avoided with effective oversight: Zondo
Updated | By Newswatch
Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo says something needs to change if the country is to get rid of loadshedding once and for all.

He made the comments during former Public Enterprises Minister Lynn Brown's testimony at the State Capture Inquiry on Friday.
The question of the oversight role the department plays and how effective it is came up.
Justice Zondo used loadshedding as an example, saying it had been with us since 2008 - and at some point, the country was told the problem had been resolved for good.

"I am simply saying, either there is no proper and effective oversight or if there is proper and effective oversight, then maybe somebody who is supposed to make sure that the solution is found.
"Maybe those are not going their job properly because it's maybe 13-years and if we say we don't see the end in sight of loadshedding unless we change how things are done ten years from now we will still be complaining about loadshedding."
