Load shedding expected again today
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Eskom says it's implementing stage 2 rotational
load shedding again today from 9am until 11pm.
The embattled utility says it has to do this to protect our power system from a total collapse or blackout.
Eskom says the national electricity system remains under severe strain, but that it's been trying to sort out its capacity issues.

Chief Operating Officer Jan Oberholzer says they have begun an investigation at the Medupi power station to find out what cause a conveyer belt to break, leading to countrywide load shedding.

"The supply constraint is caused by, among others, five generating units that are unavailable due to boiler tube leaks."
"In addition, a conveyor belt supplying Medupi Power Station with coal failed on Saturday 12 October resulting in low volumes of coal being supplied to the power station thus limiting the generating capability to approximately half the station output."

Load shedding's expected to continue for the rest of the week.
Eskom has apologised to people for the inconvenience, especially the matrics, who started writing their final exams this week.
