Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Eskom says load shedding will continue for the rest
of the week due to a shortage of generation capacity.

"The outlook for load shedding for the current week is that for today (Monday) we will continue until midnight with stage 4 load shedding. We will then drop two stages to go to stage 2 from midnight to 5am and we will then again on Tuesday have stage 4 load shedding from 5 till midnight,” said Eskom head Andre de Ruyter.
He spoke at a media briefing on Monday.
“The same pattern for Wednesday and Thursday and bu Friday we hope to move to stage 2 load shedding from midnight to 5 o’clock and then stage 3 from five in the morning until midnight.”
De Ruyter said if all power station units return to service as planned the utility will be able to reduce load shedding to stage 2 this weekend.
