LISTEN: #Vlakfontein murder suspects appear in court

One of the two suspects in the Vlakfontein family murders has abandoned bail.
61-year-old Fita Khupe and 27-year-old Vusi Mabaso appeared in the Lenasia Magistrate's Court earlier.

Khupe and Mabaso each face seven counts of premeditated murder and theft. They were allegedly found with the victims' bank cards.Three women and four young children were found murdered and buried under heaps of sand in their home in the south of Johannesburg last week.
Some of the victims were laid to rest in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal this weekend.
Khupe will be back in court on Monday to apply for bail.
Mabaso, who was known to the family as Sibusiso Khoza, also faces three counts of rape and will remain in custody at the Johannesburg Central police station.
