LISTEN: Traffic volumes increase as holidaymakers leave KZN

The steady flow of holidaymakers leaving KZN has continued today.

Around 1900 vehicles per hour were recorded leaving the province, earlier today.
The figure peaked yesterday at 2300 following the New Year's Eve weekend.

The N3 Toll Concession's Con Roux says this year has seen an earlier movement in traffic volumes - as they'd only anticipated the the number of vehicles heading away from the coast to begin peaking on Sunday (January 8.)
Roux says the possibility of accidents in heavy traffic is always higher, adding that the past few days have been safe on the roads between Durban and Joburg.
