Patrol officer Eric Devers is being honoured after he saved the life of a truck driver whose vehicle slammed through a barrier and down an embankment in Ohio.
Captured on dashcam footage, the video shows the officer run to the scene of the crash but disappears from the view of the video.
He is then heard shouting "Don't you die! Don't you die on me! Come on!" and heard performing CPR. Sky News reports the policeman found the driver still strapped to his seat.
Emergency workers have thanked the officer for swiftly taking action while the driver is recovering at a nearby hospital.
The video has since accumulated more than nine million views on Ohio Highway Patrol's Facebook page.
