LISTEN: Mom heartbroken after baby dies at creche
A three-month-old baby has been found dead in a cot at a creche in Woodlands in Pietermaritzburg.
It's understood the child was put in the cot at about 10am where she slept but when caregivers went to check on her later she was found dead.
The mother of the child Nosipho Phakathi says as far as she knows, her child was not sick.
Phakathi also says today was her first day back at work after maternity leave.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene and found that she had been dead for some time. Police have opened an inquest docket.
