LISTEN: Ladysmith protests disrupt water supply
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Ladysmith shutdown has left thousands of residents without water supply.
Umgeni Water says the road leading to its plant has been blocked - while staff have been threatened by protesters - who've brought the town to a standstill for a second day.
Spokesperson, Shami Harichunder says their Ezakheni Plant hasn't been operating since Tuesday night.
The protesters in Ladysmith want Mayor Vincent Madlala to step down. They're complaining about service delivery and taxi violence, among other issues.
There's a strong police presence in the town.
