LISTEN: Kloof residents oppose erection of 35-metre-long cellphone tower

Residents of Forest Hills in Kloof are up in arms over proposed plans to build a cellphone tower in the area.

An application has been made to the eThekwini municipality - seeking special consent to relax the building line for the erection of the 35-metre-long tower - which will be erected on a property on Sherwood Drive.
The affected parties have been given until next Monday to make comments - failing which they will not be allowed to participate in the process.
Residents who are against the proposed tower say they have not been given enough time to make comments - having only received the notification on November 15.
One resident, Renata Grobler, says she was finalising the sale of her house but after informing the buyer of the plans for the tower, he cancelled the sale. Meanwhile, resident Tex Collins has questioned why the tower will be erected so close to homes.
