LISTEN: International Space station spotted over Durban
Updated | By Portia Cele
On their official site, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration says another sighting of the International Space Station is expected in Durban this evening.
A number of residents shared videos on social media after spotting the spacecraft on Sunday night, at around 7.29pm.
The space shuttle, which can be somewhat seen with the naked eye, moves rapidly and is star-like in appearance.
It orbits the Earth every hour and 60 minutes, and scientists say the space station is used to learn more about living and working in space.
Phoenix resident, Candice Chetty has told Newswatch about what she'd seen.
Sbusisiwe Malinga - who lives in Amanzimtoti - says this is her second sighting in the past three years.
The space station is said to be visible over the city at around 7.23pm.
